Position and Transformation
1. Reflectional Symmetry
A line of symmetry is any line that divides objects or shapes in a plane into two equal parts. These two new objects or shapes will have the same shape and size, that is, they will look similar to each other. Hence, a line of symmetry is normally refered to as a mirror line.
2. Reflection In A Given Line
In this lesson, we will learn how to plot coordinate points (ordered pairs) in the coordinate plane, other times called the cartesian plane. We will also learn how to use the x-axis and the y-axis as our mirror lines to find the reflection of the points we learned to plot on the cartesian plane.
3. Translation By A Given Vector
Translation is the movement of a point or a shape within the cartesian plane. This movement is normally done in a straight line, and in some direction. Hence, we normally translate points by vectors in the cartesian plane.
4. Congruent And Similar Shapes
Two shapes are said to be congruent when the magnitude of their sides are equal
