Translation by a Vector

Translation is the movement of a point or a shape within the cartesian plane. This movement is normally done in a straight line, and in some direction. Hence, we normally translate points by vectors in the cartesian plane.

A vector is any quantity that has a magnitude and a direction.

We will learn how to draw shapes and points in the cartesian plane and use a vector to translate it, that is, move the point or shape drawn to a different point within the cartesian plane, using a given vector.
