In Mathematics, we say that addition and multiplication are associative because given three numbers, say \(a, b\) and \(c\), belonging to the set of Real numbers \((\mathbb{R})\), the relations below are true.

Addition

\(a + (b + c) = (a + b) + c\)

Multiplication

\(a \times (b \times c) = (a \times b) \times c\)
