Commutative Property

In Mathematics, we say that addition and multiplication are commutative. This is because given any two numbers, say \(a\) and \(b\), belonging to the set of Real numbers \((\mathbb{R})\), the relations below hold true.

Addition

\(a + b = b + a\)

Multiplication

\(a \times b = b \times a\)

We will use the commutative properties of addition and multiplication to solve questions in the next section
