Another way we can represent numbers is by using multiples of 10s, 50s, 100s and 200s. We can use the multiples of these numbers to expand larger numbers like 5,560.
Here, we will use only multiples of 10s, 50s, 100s and 200s to model numbers, but remember that you can use multiples of any other numbers to model.

Example 1
Represent 5,560 using multiples of 10s, 50s, 100s and 200s.
Solution
To better understand this, let's use a table as below to do the expansion:

\(\therefore\) 5,560=(200 \(\times\) 20)+(100 \(\times\) 10)+(50 \(\times\) 11)+(10 \(\times\) 1)
Using multiples of \(\textbf{10s}\), \(\textbf{50s}\), \(\textbf{100s}\) and \(\textbf{200s}\) model the numbers below:
- 6,000,000
- 42,500,000
- 7,900,000
- 800,000
- 91,000,000
- 1,500,000
- 200,000
- 60,400,000
- 5,000,000
- 87,000,000
